Date of Visit: 30th March 2025
Number of Paw Points: 10/10 – Am already nagging the humans for another visit!
The humans have been meaning to bring me to Hickorys for ages. It’s a relatively new steakhouse (it used to be the Lawnswood Arms) and we eventually got there on the last Sunday in March – Mothers Day so it was quite busy. But it’s nice and spacious. It’s well set out and there is ample room for lots of people.
As my folks had me with them, we were asked to sit in the sports lounge where there are screens showing NFL. It’s a large space with room in between the tables. A lovely lady brought me some water and I sat nicely under the chair while the folks ate their delicious food inspired by the cuisine of America’s Southern States.
I enjoyed chilling out there while my people ate. There were some children on the next table and the staff were so lovely with them. They took them to show how their milkshakes were made and there is a cinema room with popcorn. They clearly tap into the family market and the staff were amazing with kids. But clearly everyone is welcome.
Then not long before we left came the most impressive part of the experience. A lady who works there came over and asked if I could have a treat – after giving me the obligatory belly rub of course! She disappeared and I thought she would return with a biscuit. But she returned with a delicious, succulent piece of brisket on a little tray. Oh my, I was so happy! It was just so tasty.
Thanks so much to Hickorys for making us feel so welcome. They’re on the right track to be a huge local success!
Enzo Suggests…
For any of my fellow Leeds pooches who may be considering bringing their humans here, I recommend checking the website for events for the whole family – dogs included.
Get yourselves along there and make sure you look as cute as possible and you may get a belly rub and a succulent bit of brisket too!
