NUMBER OF PAW POINTS: 10 out of 10 for the range of drinks on offer, the undercover outdoor space with heaters, nice indoor space and the friendly staff. The humans like the music too!

If you say a bar is up an alleyway, it doesn’t sound very appealing does it? But trust me on this one. The Terminus is well worth a visit and is very appealing, so much so that I drag the humans here at least once a week!

In the heart of Meanwood on Stonegate Road, up the aforementioned alley on the right hand side is The Terminus. The founders named the bar The Terminus as it where the old local tram line used to end and it’s on the site of The Meanwood Brewery.

Dogs are welcomed with large water bowls, treats on the bar and lots of fuss!

There’s a large upstairs space where dogs are also welcome. They often host special nights up there where people can do a musical turn and they had a screen put in for the World Cup games. It’s pretty spacious. Downstairs is nicely laid out. The bar has a wide range of drinks – craft beers and ales and a range of wines and spirits.

My favourite bit is the outside bit! It’s a spacious decked area which is fully covered to protect you from the elements. Each table around the edge has it’s own heater which is a lovely touch. So on chilly nights you can feel nice and cosy.

I love to sit under the table and watch the world go by and meet other dogs. I’ve brought some dog friends here too including my cousin Orin and my friends Candy and Basil and they loved it too – it’s a lovely atmosphere for everyone!

We have never eaten here but they have guest caterers in on most weekends and the food smells delicious! You can also grab a pizza or burger from one of the local takeaways and eat it in the outdoor area of the Terminus.

If you don’t fancy food you can just relax with a drink and have a game of chess or cards. It’s a popular bar with different age groups and a relaxed vibe. If you’re in Meanwood, give it a try – You might see me there snoozing under a table!
